Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining events going on around the city:
1) Beer, Bourbon, and BBQ Festival
When: Today, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Where: La.venue/The Tunnel
What: Fill up on beer, bourbon, barbecue, and bluegrass at the Beer, Bourbon, and BBQ festival this afternoon. There will be two sessions: The Bacon Bash, from noon to 4 p.m., and the Whole Hog Pig Pickin' session, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The first session is all about bacon and will include unlimited samplings of beer and bourbon. During the evening session, guests will get a full plate of barbecued pork and unlimited tastes of beer and bourbon as well. Limited tickets will be available at the door.
2) NYChilifest
When: Sunday, 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Where: Chelsea Market
What: Tomorrow evening, more than 20 chefs from the city's top restaurants will convene at Chelsea Market to compete in the annual Tickets are $50 for unlimited chili tastings, or $55 for access to an endless supply of chili and beer. Proceeds from the event will benefit Food Systems Network NYC.
3) Sausage and Beer Dinner
When: Sunday, 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Where: Blue Hill at Stone Barns
What: The 8th annual Sausage and Beer Dinner takes place tomorrow at Blue Hill at Stone Barns. The afternoon starts with a beer-making workshop, butchery demos, and a sausage tasting. The seated dinner, which begins at 4:30 p.m., will feature sausages, charcuterie, and local beers. The afternoon costs $195 per person. For reservations, call (914) 366-9600.
4) Son of Booze and Schmooze
When: Today, 7 p.m. to
Where: The Brooklyn Kitchen
What: The City Reliquary is hosting the Son of Booze and Schmooze, a night dedicated to local food and booze. There will be drinks provided by The Noble Experiment, Greenhook Ginsmiths, BK Brew, among others, as well as bites from Saltie, Best Pizza, Pies 'n' Thighs, and the Meat Hook. Tickets are $100 and include a goody bag of treats to take home.
5) The Meatball Takedown
When: Sunday, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: The Bell House
What: The kind of cook-offs, Matt Timms, is hosting another event and this time, it's dedicated to meatballs. At the Meatball Takedown, guests will get to taste meatball variations from nearly 30 amateur chefs and vote for their favorite. Tickets are $15 and are available here.
Also of Note: The pop-up version of Smorgasburg favorite Mighty Quinn's is open for business again this weekend on the second floor of the Whole Foods Market Bowery.
